Camera Rant

My freakin camera can't seem to save photographs in the RAW format.

So not only does the camera's minimal white balance support suck - auto and 3 or 4 presets, no manual. But it has no RAW format to allow me to forgo in camera white balance processing. I guess I'll just have to make do with the presets - auto is useless in any moderately tricky situations - as you can see from the car seat chair pictures on (one of) my other blog(s).

It's ok - I'll get over it. The camera is capable of taking decent photos.

But due to this and some other "features" of the Kodak's I've had, I will not be buying another Kodak unless they really get with the program1.

1. Note to Kodak: Easy share and a minimum of manual features is great for the average casual photographer who just wants to get some pics of the kids to send to grandma without dealing with the technical stuff. Real Photographers know how to get images from a camera card, organize their files with a real file manager, edit, print, and email photos. And I'm sure that very few real photographers use the bloated and annoying Easy Share software for this. They are not impressed with marketing garbage like "easy share" and "color science". I for one will not buy another camera with an easy share button - or one that comes with a li-ion battery, but no charger and requires the easy share dock for charging - or one that can not save in RAW format.
