Programming again?

I'm thinking of getting into programming again (C,C++, and that stuff).

But I still don't own a computer. John's giving me some old parts though. I can probably scrounge one up.

I like computers, but I don't play videogames. I use linux and avoid everything Microsoft. I am an A+ Certified Technician, but don't have a job in computers. Mostly I've been doing construction(residential, renovation, remodelling, etc) lately. I'm thinking of becoming a certified scuba diver.
